Clarence Chapter
was consecrated on Wednesday 2nd July 1925 at the Freemasons’ Hall
Hunter Street, Chester. There were 30 founding members Ex. Comp.
D.L. Hewitt the most prominent. The first meeting was held in
October 1925 when there were four candidates, there was an emergency
meeting in the November to exalt a further four candidates.
Installation
was in the December at this time and continued to be so until it
was moved to January in 1965. The last meeting at Hunter Street
was in March 1995 before the move to Cheshire View, Christleton
in time for the October meeting.
The Chapter
celebrated its 75th anniversary on Wednesday 18th October 2000
in the presence of a Provincial delegation led by the Deputy Grand
Superintendent. |
