History:

The Tabernacle of Chester Cross No.152 was consecrated in May 1990.

The Order, an exclusive Christian Order, requires its members to be a subscribing Installed Master in the Craft, a subscribing Royal Arch Mason and a subscribing Knight Templar.

The Order dates back to the late 1700’s but did not prosper until 1895. In 1924 the present ruling body, Grand College, was formed and is now based in York. The Order consists of 32 degrees with the first 31 degrees being conferred in name only. The last degree is the one worked in a delightful ceremony consisting mainly of readings from the Old and New Testaments. The Head or Master of a Tabernacle is called the High Priest.
